Terms of use
Effective 22 October 2026
Use WordBoost to learn, respect other people’s rights, and keep your account secure. These terms explain the conditions for using the app and this website.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the WordBoost app, including beta versions, and getwordboost.com, operated by Jakub Szuminski (“we”, “us”). By using WordBoost, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. For questions, contact jakubszuminski0+wordboost@gmail.com.
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required where you live. If you cannot enter into a binding agreement yourself, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms for you.
2. Using WordBoost
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended learning purpose, subject to these terms. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping access to your account secure. Let us know if you suspect unauthorised access.
Do not use the service unlawfully, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious software, bypass access restrictions, or copy or redistribute content beyond what the service or applicable law permits. These restrictions do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
3. Learning content and third-party services
WordBoost provides vocabulary learning material for educational use. We aim to make it useful and accurate, but content may contain mistakes and we do not promise any particular learning outcome. WordBoost is not a substitute for professional translation or other professional advice.
Our software, branding, and original content are protected by intellectual property law. Third-party examples, media, and trademarks remain the property of their owners. Links and media references do not imply endorsement. External services, including sign-in providers and media platforms, have their own terms and availability.
4. Beta features
Beta or preview features may be incomplete, change, or become unavailable. Local learning data may not be backed up or synchronised. A preview of a paywall or trial does not itself create a purchase or subscription; a charge requires a real purchase confirmation through the relevant payment provider.
5. Purchases and subscriptions, if offered
If paid features become available, the purchase screen will show the price, billing period, included features, and any trial conditions before you confirm. App Store purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account and are also subject to Apple’s terms.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew for the disclosed billing period unless you cancel before the applicable renewal deadline shown by Apple. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app or your WordBoost account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Trial eligibility and the price after a trial are shown before purchase; cancel before the trial ends to avoid the next charge, subject to the purchase terms.
Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests. See Apple’s cancellation instructions and request a refund from Apple. Nothing here removes statutory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights. The iOS app is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a separate applicable licence is supplied.
6. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what information we process, why we use it, and how to exercise your rights. Privacy choices and any consent required for particular processing are separate from acceptance of these terms.
7. Availability and ending your use
We may update the service, fix errors, or change features. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, or legal obligations. Where practical and legally required, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Changes to paid services remain subject to applicable consumer rights.
You can stop using WordBoost at any time and request account deletion by emailing jakubszuminski0+wordboost@gmail.com. See the privacy policy for data retention and local device data.
8. Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for losses caused by misuse of the service or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections or liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.
9. Changes and applicable rights
We may revise these terms as the service develops. We will post the updated terms and effective date here and give additional notice of material changes where required. Changes do not remove rights that have already arisen. If you disagree with a change, you may stop using the service; any rights relating to a paid purchase remain governed by applicable law.
These terms do not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence or your right to bring a claim before a competent court. If any provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
